Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Storycuts (“Service”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Storycuts.

2. Description of Service

Storycuts is an AI-powered platform that generates short-form videos from text prompts. The Service uses third-party AI models (Anthropic Claude, Replicate Flux, ElevenLabs) and a video assembly pipeline (Shotstack) to produce video content. Output quality depends on third-party model availability and is not guaranteed.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One account per person. Do not share accounts.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Credits, Subscriptions, and Billing

  • Free accounts receive a limited number of credits per month. Paid plans provide higher credit allotments as described on the pricing page.
  • Credits are consumed per video render and are non-refundable once a render has been submitted to the pipeline.
  • Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the displayed price. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions. Contact hello@storycuts.ai to request a refund within 14 days of your first payment.
  • Prices may change with 30 days’ notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or promotes violence or hatred.
  • Infringe intellectual property rights of third parties.
  • Generate non-consensual intimate imagery or content involving minors.
  • Impersonate real people, organisations, or public figures in a deceptive manner.
  • Circumvent rate limits, abuse free credits, or attempt to extract the underlying AI models.
  • Resell access to the Service or build competing products using our API without written permission.

6. Content Ownership and Licenses

You retain ownership of any original prompts and content you input. You grant Storycuts a limited, non-exclusive license to process that input to provide the Service.

AI-generated outputs (images, voiceovers, assembled videos) are provided to you under a non-exclusive license for commercial and personal use, subject to the terms of the underlying AI model providers. We make no warranty that outputs are free of third-party intellectual property claims.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Anthropic, Replicate, ElevenLabs, Shotstack, Supabase, and Stripe. Availability of the Service depends on these providers. We are not liable for outages, errors, or policy changes by third parties.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR USE CASE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYCUTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, for breach of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. On termination, your credits and generated content may be deleted after 30 days.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
